If one of your computers keeps getting deactivated and you are repeatedly asked to reset your license activations, this is not normal behavior.
The vast majority of users activate the panel on their two computers once and never need to do it again.
When deactivations recur, something in your setup is causing the license to see one of your machines as a new device each time, which uses up an activation until both are gone and the next launch is rejected.
This is almost always traceable to one of a few causes below.
Most Likely Cause: Photoshop Beta Builds
The most common cause is running the panel in a Photoshop beta or prerelease build.
Beta builds change frequently and are not officially supported for our panels, as noted on our RA Panels Compatibility page. These builds often re-register the plugin on each update, which the license reads as a new device and which can deactivate the panel almost every week.
Install and work in the current stable release of Photoshop, then run the panel there for a week. This single change resolves the majority of recurring-deactivation cases.
Other Things to Check
If you are already on the stable release and still see deactivations, check the following on each computer.
iCloud Drive and synced folders
If iCloud Drive's Optimize Mac Storage is turned on, or your Photoshop settings or Library folder is synced to iCloud, the license file can be moved or rewritten between sessions. Excluding Photoshop's preferences from sync usually stops this.
Please ensure that this folder is excluded from syncing:
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
Cleanup and security software
Cleanup and security tools such as CleanMyMac, antivirus suites, or a scheduled nightly cleaner can clear the folder where the license is stored. If you run any of these, exclude Photoshop's preferences and plugin folders from their cleaning routines.
VPN with a changing location
A VPN that connects from a different location each time can affect how your device is recognized. If both machines use the same VPN, try working with it off for a week to see whether the deactivations stop.
How to Reset Your Activations
If you are currently locked out, reset your license activations from your Member Account: Reset Your Panel License Activations. Confirm your Maintenance & Support subscription is Active first (check here).
