Error #1: CCX File Not Recognized
REASON 1: Download Directory
When you download and unzip the CCX installer file, it must be located on the same drive that Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud App are installed on your computer in order to successfully install the panel. After the panel is installed, you can move this file anywhere you like.
The reason for this is that when you initiate the CCX installer, it will “look” for a certain file directory to install in. Adobe will only allow CCX installers to search the directory that it is currently stored on.
So, in order to successfully install the new UXP panels, be sure to run the installation file (.CCX) from the same drive that Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud App are installed on.
Ideally, from the root folder on the C: drive on a Windows PC and from the Downloads folder on the Macintosh HD on a Mac.
REASON 2: Installer Agent
If nothing happens when you double-click on the CCX file, or the file is not recognized or can’t open, follow these steps:
For Mac users: Please right-click on the .CCX file, choose Open With, and then locate this file:
Macintosh HD ▸ Library ▸ Application Support ▸ Adobe ▸ Adobe Desktop Common ▸ UPI ▸ AdobePluginInstallerAgent
Select the AdobePluginInstallerAgent file and press Open.
For PC users: Please right-click on the .CCX file, choose Open With ▸ More Apps, scroll down to look for another app on this PC, then locate the file here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\UPI\<wbr />AdobePluginInstallerAgent
Select the AdobePluginInstallerAgent file and press Open.
